Interesting to see that everyone who posted to this thread, apart from the OP,
was posting to the newsgroup and not the crap techarena forum.
If you try and follow the thread on the forum all the quotes have been
deleted making it impossible to follow logically.

I was impressed too. Usually the forum posters are your run-of-the-mill
cubicle monkeys that think their post takes presidence over everything else,
especially when they reply to a 3 year old thread without quoting any of the
original text. akumageorges posted in a professional manner even though
he's green around computers. He replied to everyone who tried to help, even
though it must've been frustratiing because nothing was working, and kept
his composure. I feel bad because after he posted his fix, I remembered
that's exactly what I did with my old XP machine.

Well done, akumageorges.

Techarena is one of the worse 'slurpie' sites out there! Most of the
folks who post there don't realize how theses slurpie sites work, they
don't know anything about nntp newsgroups and how they work, they think
that all of this is actually being posted directly to the slurpie site.
What will these sites now do with their Windows7 "forums"?

Hmm. Maybe *that's* the real reason MS decide to go to a forum for 7,
(instead of doing it to avoid the plague of trolls we see here, as I and
others had presumed)...
