Per chance was the reverse zone manually created elsewhere in the forest?
I've seen this happen because in some cases an admin may not think that the
zone is replicating and will try to give it a 'head start' by manually
creating it. This only causes further issues with conflicting and duplicate
zones in the AD database.
To check if you have any conflicting or dupe zones, read my blog on how to
determine this, as well as how to fix it, if it *is* the case.
