If the price was cut in half, no doubt the buyers would be happy...for a
while.
But after a while, they would probably again complain about the high cost.
Cutting in half could continue with similar results until the product was
free.
Lowering the price would do little to prevent piracy.
Thieves will steal at any price so price is largely irrelevant to them.
Thieves steal because it is their nature.
