When it says system is missing files ... does it give a list?

If you are reinstalling from scratch ... using format and re-creating
partition ... you will lose EVERYTHING unless you have all Program
Installation CDs and you have backup'd all your personal data (contacts,
address book, documents, ...)

It would be better to try and fix your problem that you have ... it may be
something fixable.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I have tried to fix this problem before i reinstalled, it just wont let me
do anything.
Yes it did give a list but i didn't write them down, i just reinstalled.
Do you think it will happen again and without the updates will it cause
problems for me?

You do need Windows 2000 Rollup pack as well as all security patches and IE6
updates.
