1. Control Panel>Device Manager>Network Adapters - expand this category.
What is in there? Do you see the ethernet adapter as well as the wireless
adapter?

a. If yes, is there a red X next to it? If yes, right-click on it and enable
it.

b. If no...

2. Go to Dell's website and download the drivers for your ethernet adapter.
Install them.

a. Did all go smoothly and do you now have an active ethernet card? If yes,
you're done.

b. If no, then the ethernet hardware has probably failed. If you have a
desktop computer, put in a PCI ethernet card. They cost under $20. If you
have a laptop, call Dell tech support.
