RE: Problem with installing updates

Similar problem: run windows update from explorer, it asks: "Express or
Custom", next screen: "Checking for the latest updates for your computer..."
(with green light bar from left to right) and then..... NOTHING! The screen
just hangs there until I close the window or click back, bookmark, link
etc... No error, just the perpetual green bar. My last update is reported to
be on 9/17/05. I anxiously await a reply to your post in hopes to resolve my
