Greetings,

Yes, this is a known bug. To correct this, shut down Messenger entirely by right-clicking on
its icon in the notification area and choosing Exit, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...lmpolicies.reg

Then sign in again. Note that it will take up to one minute for your contacts to be
corrected and refreshed. Additionally you may get several prompts for the new contacts
and/or you may need to delete the new ones and then readd them if they don't appear online
(assuming they are online) after the one minute.

I suggest upgrading to Windows Live Messenger 8.1 then as the problem is solved there also:

Jonathan,

I removed windows live messenger completly and download the 8.1 version.
Then follow up your instructions but still no solutions. Any other ideas?
