You should be more specific. Most of the registry cleaning operations
that CCleaner will offer to perform have nothing at all to do with the
problem, and some can be harmful to their system.

This is poor advice.

No kidding, running ccleaner is the last thing anyone should ever do on
their computer. I would only suggest it if the computer is so screwed up
you are going to have to reformat and reinstall anyways and you can't
possibly hurt anything by trying it.

However, on a well-functioning system, a registry "cleaner" is bound to
do more harm than good and might end up leading you to a reinstall!

I don't agree at all. CCleaner is an excellent program, and I
recommend using it for everything it does *except* for its registry
cleaning function.

I completely agree with that, even on a system that is *not*
well-functioning. Registry cleaners are all snake oil.

Read Dave-UK's earlier reply. He told you how to do it.

I don't feel my registry needs to be "cleaned" therefore, I have no use
for it. Its other stuff, I do manually. If you run the registry cleaner
function, eventually, it will mess up your system, its only a matter of
time.

Nope, not full of ****, just because I haven't done something, doesn't
mean I don't know its bad to do. I've never dropped a match into a can
of gasoline. However, I know it will blow up, because of other
experiences that tell me its a bad thing. Just do a web search on
"registry cleaners" and see how many you find that screw up systems to
the point a reinstall is the only thing that will fix it.
