First step is to stop the Automatic Updates service via the Services
console or from Start > Run > type in
net stop wuauserv
Click OK or press Enter
[NOTE: Do NOT Disable the AU service, just stop it for now and leave it
set to start Automatically on boot]
With show hidden files, folders, and system files enabled,
delete all of the *subfolders* of WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution
Then close the window
Download and save:
Windows Update Agent 3.0

Install WUA first, then KB927891, and restart the system
To start the automatic download of updates go back to Start > Run > type in
wuauclt /detectnow
Click OK or press Enter
