AlexB what in the H*** is wrong with you?
A user comes here seeking help and YOU spout out a bunch of crap how they
are at fault just because YOU haven't experienced what they have? BS
It's one thing to give a wrong answer, people here will correct you in a
nice way, but it's absolutely uncalled for when you to attack someone like
this. Besides, who the H*** are YOU that anyone has to verify ANYTHING to.
You mentioned the word Fishy, perhaps that's exactly what you need to do is
take some time OFF and go fishing.

Listen S.G., as far as I remember you are one of those Acronis/Elephant
computer enthusiasts who was staging Mitsy / Betsy type exaltations about
purported benefits of the great software. Your business is over.

I don't think it is up to you to set up standards of behavior for me, so
back down.

I gave him all technical advice I had. You gave none. Also as far as I
remember you do not have a record of giving any at all.

Just get out of the way. I expressed my opinion and I stand by it. Vista is
a capable OS in good hands with elementary human qualities patients and a
bit of intelligence.

You gave no technical advise. You said, "I've done a number
of Vista installs, cannot cannot vouch but perhaps at least 8 or
more and every time I had windows.old in my machine."

Nothing technical there.

> You gave none.

Doesn't matter, since your advise had ZERO technical merit and offered no
advise either.

No, you didn't 'give an opinion'. YOU ATTACKED the OP.

Um, Elephant Computers belongs to the spammer known as "Malke". Oops.

It's time you set some higher standards for yourself and stop giving
erroneous "advice".

Which is none.

Nor do you.

Just curious, what are "human qualities patients"? LOL and this guy
criticizes my English!

Have you got the answer for my "an" and "a" question or don't you have
enough education to know the answer?

Back down? no way, not when you are going to bash some innocent user who
comes here seeking help. A record you say, I've been around these groups
since 1995, former MVP, OEM System Builder, MS Partner, so where have you
been. The technical advice you gave was nothing, reread what you wrote in
both your replies. I WILL NOT STAND by and let you jump down anyone's throat
just because YOU think they should experience what you have, so get use to
it. You can help all you want, BUT you can do it in a KIND way and if you
don't I will be right behind you like it or not. Now you can have the last
word so go for it.

DanS, you are right. I would like to back off. I am sorry. It's been a rash
decision to say that because I was thinking about another post of mine.

I stand corrected. I am not refuting my first post, though.

Now, as far as what I've said in my first answer, it is true. I had a very
rough time with Vista for the first about 5 months. It was a constellation
of circumstances: a number of threatening unfinished projects, time
pressure, my own impatiens, etc. I've gone thru most of the stuff other
people have experienced, I mean those who have trouble handling Vista.

Two things save me and made me a devotee.

One is the fact that I had no way to back off: I lost my Internet connection
on one of my major development XP partitions. All my software was tied up in
there. I felt that I had to barge ahead.

Two: I took some of my concerns over to MSDN and luckily an MVP, a bright
and knowledgeable fellow who has helped me before guided me patiently thru a
maze of connectivity. I had to deal with Sql Server, VFP9 databases
connection strings, VS2005, Adm rights, permissions, etc., etc. etc. It all
worked flawlessly in XP but stopped working in Vista. He helped me to set it
all up. it took about two weeks overall. it gave me some food for thought
and also I developed grips and habits and they became a part of me. now it
all looks so simple.

Three: at fist I could not figure out why it took so long for Vista to boot
after the first install or first upgrades. I would lose patience and turn
the machine off and begin a fresh install since I have this license to to
it. I started out on August 15 (approximately) and only by Dec 23, after I
already spent almost 2 weeks in this group and learned something form the
posters I realized that I had to let Vista doing what it is designed to do.
Just to keep my hands off of it.

Now, this long post may create an impression on you that I spent six months
just reinstalling Vistas all over. It is not true. I did million other
things, I advanced my development as far as I could, I made tremendous
strides but overall that inability of mine to handle Vista initially,
primarily because of my own impatience took its toll. I would say I've lost
about three to four weeks overall in aggregate.

There are many reasons I am fighting for Vista and my affection to the
system is just one of them. Another one is a sense of fairness. I can see
that it is being attacked by crooks and I hate it. I decided that I will not
allow it to happen.

In the end I want to tell you that my entire life, my standard of living
depends on success of MS software. When inferior crooks attack a system that
I hope will become a cornerstone of my meal ticket I feel that they want to
take away my livelihood.

IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Thank you for being so upfront and honest AlexB. You now openly admit that
your role as a Vista Fanboy is purely for your own selfish interests.
Everyone should be aware of that the next time they read one of your posts
attacking those of us that use Linux or point out the deficiencies we see
in Vista.

Cheers.

I am not attacking you for using Linux. Go to your nonexistent Linux NG and
masturbate.

if you want to find a chink in my armor, I don't give a fuc*cking damn. I
know what you are worth: a worthless Linux troll, an idiot who cannot see
the light. I am using Vista and see NO DEFICIENCIES in it. I know that
people who use Linux have plenty to complain if they try to do anything
serious. I've given you plenty of roof for that. It is well documented.

And I will defend Vista because it is my wellbeing. Period. Since I've got
it my work has accelerated threefold. Everything has become at least 5 times
more efficient and this process is only beginning to take off.

I do no believe that he was an "innocent user." He is a ghost. perhaps even
your alter ego, a second alias. It is a Vista bashing, nothing else. His OP
is a piece of propaganda. people who want to switch to XP do not use
language like this. They ask technical questions.

As far as you are concerned, fu*ck off and go away. I did not give a
technical advice to this guy but I explained in my post to DanS and I
apologized for that.

FU*CK off former MVP. Your scummy business is over. No more histrionic
demonstrations of virtues of Acronis Free Image. Bye, bye.

And I do not need your help. I haven't seen your posting anything meaningful
at all. Just a troll around here.

Fuc*k you.

Blue pills, Alex. Take the little blue pills.
Take the pretty pink ones only with meals.
Maybe a switch to decaff will help as well.
