| For a while, ActiveSync 3.7.1 runs along just fine, but then every
once in a
| while I get the following error message:
|
| Runtime Error
| Program C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\WCESMGR.EXE
| Abnormal Program Termination
|
| Once that starts, I can no longer read any files in Outlook 2003, nor
can I
| run ActiveSync, forcing me to re-start both applications, but it just
| happens again the very next time I try to sync my Dell X50v.
ActiveSync
| seems to stall out in different areas. For instance, it may happen
when
| it's checking Contacts, or Appointments. One time it seemed to stall
while
| syncing Journal.
|
| Does anyone know why AS would suddenly terminate like that? Any hints
of
| where I can look to find the problem? I have tried Googling but that
has led
| nowhere.

| Thanks for your help...

Monitor the amount of resource left in Windows. See if they are low
when this occurs, try to keep above 20%. If you use Windows 95/98 these
are fixed but can be adjusted in XP, but you've kept your OS a secret.
Look for the System Monitor in Start, Accessories, System Tools if it
has been installed, if not add it to your system. If you have Norton
Utilities there is a tool there to monitor them too.

| Sorry about that... I use Win XP Pro SP2 and I truly don't think it
has
| anything to do with resources, although I do admit I've never checked
it.
| Everything else runs just fine, but next time it happens I will
check to
| see what my resource level is at.

It may not be resources, but worth checking. With XP you can increase
them if needed.
