Trevor,
What you can do is click the shield, click custom, untick the box, close it
which will prompt you with a message are you sure you want to hide it...
If you have no luck there, go to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com, let it
find the update for you, untick the install & when it expands tick the box
not to show again
If it still keeps coming back then go into services (START | RUN | type:
SERVICES.MSC & press ENTER), stop the AUTOMATIC UPDATE & BACKGROUND
INTELLIGENT TRANSFER SERVICES services, delete the SoftwareDistribution
folder from the Windows directory (Ex. C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution) then
start AUTOMATIC UPDATES service first then start the BACKGROUND INTELLIGENT
TRANSFER SERVICE & then use the 2 previous steps (unric box in Automatic
Updates...) to block that update again & it should work
