Every restart clears the memory; removing the battery makes no
difference.
I suspect that there is a configuration item in the registry or in an
ini file somewhere. Look in the video setup in the control panel, or by
right clicking on the desktop, or ???. Something there might seem
obvious or at least possible...
Or maybe, just for fun, temporarily try other rotations in arbitrary
sequences.
E.g., rotate it to the left, then to normal, then reboot. Or rotate it
to the the left, then reboot, then rotate it to normal, then reboot.
Maybe you'll make it remember to start without the momentary wrong
orientation.
To tell the truth, I see it as a mystery...And I would do the above
sorts of things in hopes of ... of ... well, I don't really know.
