I am having this exact same issue with KB925454 "Cumulative Security Update
for Internet Explorer for Windows XP" causes a BSoD. All other updates seem
to go through ok.
Replacing the following .dll files brings my system back to a working state:
urlmon.dll
wininet.dll
shlwapi.dll
shdocvw.dll
Everything else seems to be working ok on the system. Passes all maner of
tests just fine.
I am going to try to install IE7 to see if that "gets around" the issue.
