This is the right place, Brian, unless you can also ask the Palm people in
parallel. That sounds, based on you not allowing wireless connections when
connected to the PC, like Palm has done something all to themselves to
prevent you from doing what you wanted to do.

You might verify that the USB RNDIS network adapter that should show up in
the list of network adapters in the Control Panel | Connections segment,
shows that it connects to The Internet and not to something else, like Work.

That was not clear from your original messages. I would almost bet on the
network being set up to connect to the wrong "network". See below.

On the device, select Settings | Connections | Network Cards. Check the
drop-down list titled something along the lines of "My network card connects
to:" and make sure it's set to, as I said, The Internet. You might also
select the actual card, called something with "RNDIS" or "Remote-NDIS" in
its name, and tell us what all the settings say.

Remote NDIS Host should not be set that way (Use server-assigned IP
address). It should be set to a specific IP address (or at least my WM5
device has to be):

169.254.2.1

with the following Subnet:

255.255.255.0

The default gateway can be left empty.

Generally, if things are working, yes, enable advanced network
functionality. However, as you're having problems, uncheck that item.
Unchecking it gives the most-compatible communications. I'm out of ideas...
