I would highly suggest using Google (or another Internet search engine) to
look around and try some for yourself.

Example:
http://www.google.com/search?&q="Windows+Vista"+status+indicator+softwar e+for+numlock+and+capslock

With that alone, I quickly found this freeware:
http://www.binaryfortress.com/traystatus/

Haven't tried it - but...

I've tried Shenan Stanley's suggestion (TrayStatus), Caps Lock Light, and
NumCapsScroll indicator. They all work fine for me.

I'm using the third because I like its display better (after configuring
it my way), but YMMV, and one of the other two (or one of the many others
on the net) might work better for you...

My preference is to run that little reg fix that turns the caps-lock
into a standard shift key. Durn thing just gets in the way and I can't
recall the last time I wanted to type all caps.
