Re: SP2 freezes during installation

I had a similar problem. I had Home Premium X64 and tried to install the
SP1 update. I failed miserably on 3 sibling computers. Then I found out
that a very big percent of Vista users fail to update the SP1. The only
real solution was to fresh install a copy of Vista with SP1. I suggest
that you do the same. Install a fresh copy of Vista with SP2.

Today my auto updates picked up a new update available:
windows vista sp2 standalone (KB948465).
I am going to ignore this update for a very long time :-)

Thanks for your response.

Now, if only a fresh copy of Vista with SP2 would be available "free of
charge"... I guess I'll just upgrade to Windows 7 :sarc:

with SP2 :-)
