Hi Nick,
Not aware of any sync program that replaces ActiveSync completely since most
of the sync software needs Activesync to be installed first. An exception
would be PocketMac, however, it is designed for Macintosh operating system.
Backup your data and proceed to perform a hard reset. Next connect the
device without restoring any information and check if you need to perform a
soft reset again everytime to get it to sync. Then delete the partnership
and restore the backup and check again.
