With an external USB to SATA adapter, you could try taking your hard
drive out of the laptop (It's usually very easy to do that) and recover
the files by plugging the drive into another computer and reading it
there. DON'T try to write to it just yet...
It is possible that your drive is failing (I'm not totally sure bout
that).
Another alternative - again requiring another computer - is to download
a program like EASEUS Disk Copy and use to to create a bootable CD.
Boot your laptop from that and use it to write a complete clone of your
drive to an external drive. That provides some safety in case something
that you do erases or messes up your original drive. You could then
also use the external drive as I said in the first paragraph to recover
your files on another computer.
