Hi,

ActiveSync does not support synchronization of multiple Contact folders. It
will synchronize only the default Contact folder. So all contacts that are
available under this folder, you can synchronize to the device.

If an ActiveSync partnership is established between the PC and Device, then
the changes that take place on either device will be synchronized. It
appears that since the partnership already existed before the change on the
PC and the contacts which were earlier available have been moved to another
folder. Therefore when ActiveSync checks it see that the contacts are not
available in the folder and interprets that it has been erased and therefore
proceeds to erase from the device as well. On the other hand it sees that
new contacts (the ones you copied) have come in the folder and therefore
synchronizes it to the device.

Short answer - you will need to move the contacts to the Contacts folder in
order to get it to synchronize to your device.
