(Vista Home Premium Sp2 on a Toshiba laptop)

I've got an old DOS game called "Blockout" that I want to run on my
laptop but when I do I get this error message:

<quote>
16 bit MS-DOS subsystem
E:\nc\blockout\ble.exe
This system does not support fullscreen mode. Choose "Close" to
terminate the application.
</quote>

There are also two buttons "Close" and "Ignore". "Close" exits;
"Ignore" is ignored.

My display information is:

<quote>
Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family [Display adapter] (2x)
LPL LP154WX4-TLC8 [Monitor] (15.4"vis)
</quote>

I've tried running the program by opening a command prompt and also by
tweaking the properties of "bl.exe" and creating a .PIF file but I
always get the same result.

Is this a Vista problem or a problem with my laptop's video settings
or what? Is there any way to get Blockout to run on my Vista machine?

TIA

This is a common problem with old DOS games. A DOS Emulator is the easiest
solution.

Get DOSBox here: http://www.dosbox.com/.

It's free, and solves the problem.
