I just hit windows key - e and explorer pops up immediately. Breadcrumbs?

dont think u can. its an inbuilt feature.

^ BreadCrumb Bar is what now appears in ur adress bar. From one folder you can jump to any other folder on the path backward using the breadcrumb arrows. It makes it easier to go back as many steps as you want. However you cannot drag a file to address bar, hover over an arrow & open that folder with drag selected. You can instead simply do a Cut & go to that folder & Paste.
