Boots fast? So now load Kodak Easyshare, Weather Eye, Net meter, and
anything else that users have running on their computers then come back with
a speed report..

All the above programs have a better program in Ubuntu. Course, had you
installed Intrepid and poked around, you wouldn't have to reveal your
total ignorance constantly.

Intrepid includes Weather Eye and Kodak Easyshare?

That Ubuntu c.{2}p really surprised me today, suddently failing to recognize
my video card. Guess what, Windows have no problems with it. So deduction
says that problem is... Ubuntu! So the question arise, who would need such
"stable" operating system?

Ubuntu 8.10 seems to be matching if not better performance than Vista BUT
Vista's Font Rendering is far superior than Ubuntu and I have to admit that
the fonts in Ubuntu are crap. I do not think the developers in Ubuntu are in
a hurry to rectify this because the Ubuntu users have an illusion that they
have a decent font rendering in their system and do not emphasise the
importance of the quality Fonts.

I didn't say that. Reread my post and see if you can understand it with
a second read.

With Windows, you need to install drivers for a graphics card. Same
thing with Ubuntu. Click on Administration/Hardware Drivers. If you've
lost Compiz, go to Preferences/Appearance/Visual Effects tab.

Microsoft holds the patents to the fonts you want. Microsoft won't let
anyone in Open Source use them. Bitch to Microsoft, not Ubuntu. That
said, you can add the Microsoft fonts if you really want to do that.

What you are actually saying is that the software on the CD supplied with
the camera can't be used, that the Ubuntu user will have to look for an
alternative which does not offer all of the 'one click' features of a
program like Easyshare.

Pray tell me what the equivalent of Weather Eye is so that I can give it a
whirl on Intrepid..
