Sounds like signal that a popup blocker has done its thing? ; }
Usually the symptom is that the user doesn't even get the tiny popup menu.
Perhaps you are only slightly luckier than those users? <eg>

Does your popup blocker have a way of bypassing its effect?
E.g. press Alt-Ctrl- when clicking?

Not a standard browser problem anyway.

Does that mean you changed your Home page to the page you were on
or something like that? Otherwise I have no idea what effect this would
have, unless you have some really slow startup procedures... ; )

Does Vista still have a safe mode boot? Can you bypass its normal startup
by pressing Shift- during the boot. Etc. Do such things make the symptom
change?

Off topic for the IE NG.

Hi Robert... thanks for your help. I did notice a pop-up so I clicked on the
option to always allow pop-ups from this site. It didn't make any difference.
It was only by going out, re-booting and coming back in that functionality
was restored. But I got in OK tonight so maybe whatever the problem was, it
has gone away.... for the time being.
