i cant give you ONE specific url because it doesnt happen until i open a 4th
instasnce of ie8 meaning i have 4 or 5 open windows and only the last one or
two take forever before giving me the diagnose connection problems button and
when i click on it there is never an issue and i get explore other
troubleshooters and close.
ie8 has never crashed and it displays pages FATS but it just doesnt like
when i have multiple open pages running and the last one or two OPEN IN NEW
WINDOW pages just dont load...but the first 2 or 3 pages continue to load
pages as fast as ever

And how much RAM have you got, and what else is open at the same time?

one computer has 1.5 gigs ram. one has 2 gigs ram and one has 3 gigs ram all
have windows 7 32-bit and i have nothing else open at the same time except
for avgfree9. ive done the troubleshooters several times....always issue not
present and ie troubleshooter finds nothing either. i turn on the computer...
open ie8...for example i go to msn...i click on tech news...i see 2 articles
i find interesting so each one i right-click and select open in new
window....from one of those articles i see another link i want to open so i
right-click on that link and select open in new window....after an
inordinately long time the page changes to internet explorer cannot display
the page.
i click on the diagnose connection button and after a short while i get the
option to explore other options or close the troubleshooter.
so i close that page, i click on the link on the page with the link i want
to follow to open in the same window and lo and behold it opens FAST with no
problems.
so i go back...right-click again the link and select open in new
window...same problem.
sometimes its the 4th window i open...sometimes the 5th window i open.but i
can always close those windows and paste the url into a previously open ie8
windows address bar and the page loads, no problem.
did i leave anything out?
thanks

i hope that <plonk> means you are going to post something helpful for a change.
you dont want me posting?
post something HELPFUL to me to help with the ie8 issue im having instead of
posting attitude.
seems others try to be of help and ask me for more info which i gladly post.
maybe you could post a list of questions and i will answer them all because
since im not in the habit of using these newsgroup sites i am not familiar
with the way you want questions asked or which bits of info you need.
but thank you for reading my posts even tho you dont like them.

"<plonk>" is a technical term used in newsreaders. It means he has placed your
name or (other info specific to your posts) in a filter so that your posts are
marked as read and hidden, never again to appear in his message list.

Several points make responding to you seem pointless.

[1] In your first post you dismissed all of the usual starting points for
diagnosing a problem. Performing the usual diagnostic and then posting the
complete results (error messages, etc.) is necessary for all readers to compare
your problem with what they may be familiar with. Someone may have had and
resolved the same issue but they can't know that until they see a result to the
checks that led them to a solution.

[2] You make both vague and absolute remarks that are useless or improbable.
(LOTS of sites), (takes FOREVER), (i have tried EVERYTHING).

[3] You are posting about problems on several computers with different OS's,
different hardware and different installations. It's very likely that the
solutions will be different for the individual machines. Concentrate on just
one and then move on to another.

[4] You are composing your posts as a long run-on paragraph of mostly irrelevant
or argumentative rant. That makes seeing specific characteristic of the problem
difficult. After squinting at your post for a while, most readers give up and
go on to the next poster.

[5] You also sometimes post with no content from the post you are replying to.
This requires the reader to find that previous post to know what you are talking
about. For some of the regulars, who may contribute to hundreds of support
groups, it's just not worth the effort. Moreover many people set their
newsreaders to show only unread messages, they won't even see the older post
without changing the display settings.

No one cares about your opinion of Microsoft, IE8, or the congeniality of those
who respond to your posts. As Joe Friday says "Just the facts ma'am". The
solution to your problem may come from the most tactless, sarcastic SOB on the
group, but not if that person plonks you :-(
