Lets hope so.

My suspicion. He has the same malady as his 'friends'. Too much warrcraft
(miss-spelt on purpose).

thank you for your post....i see exactly the points you made but since this
is the first time since using windows millennium that ive ever had any sort
of problem that i needed help in finding an answer i had no idea what info
would be needed and the arrogant responses sounded more like am supposed to
know all this already, which i didnt know till now, because you are the only
one to state where i am going wrong here.
since my issue and the way i asked for help annoys all you guys ill just
read thru the posts to see if anyone else asks correctly and gets a response.
thank you for your time

Hi je,

I am only assuming a common thread between your problems and the problems
that you indicated are shared with your 'friends'.

The miss-spelling was on purpose, because of known current phishing scams.
You only have to miss-read the url on a mail link once to be screwed.

Remember "In the Internet nobody knows your a dog." Be careful who you make
'friends' with. They may not be real 'dogs', but they can bite just as hard.

Do some research and you will find that the most common cause of infection
is through malicious emails. Your Win7 machine has some current links to MS
at Home and MS at Work in the Favorites pane. There are some excellent tips
there on safe surfing and email safety.

Having come from WinME I imagine that to you still receive a 'Microsoft
Updates' occasionally in your inbox on your Win7 machine? You know MS did
not send it to you right? Beware of 'dogs', 'dancing bears', Nigerians and
Rumanians and generally any emails from persons not immediately known to
you. If you are still using the same email address from your WinME machine I
would suggest you trash it and create a new fresh one. Your email address
from your WinME machine will attract attacks as it will be known by the
hackers as being vulnerable.

PS. Stop hijacking threads. Your welcome is wearing thin. Go and enjoy the
holidays and come back in a few days on a new thread with a carefully worded
description of YOUR issues. Alternatively seek local help from a
professional computer repair service or use the online support services
offered up under the Win7 Troubleshooting Control Panel that allow remote
assistance from support professionals.

i found the solution to my ie8 issue rob....on the microsoft corporation web
site.
seems there is an issue with the amount of connections ie8 allows and there
is a fix, which i have downloaded, saved and applied and lo and behold i have
opened 8 separate web pages and they all respond as fast as i would expect.
now i shall share this fix from microsoft with my other computers and my
friends.

i found the solution to my ie8 issue....on the microsoft corporation web
site.
it seems there is a known issue with the amount of connections ie8 allows
and there is a fix, which i have downloaded, saved and applied and lo and
behold i have opened 8 separate web pages and they all respond as fast as i
would expect.seems ie8 was allowing 6 connections, which i suspect is 3 pages
with crash recovery for each page, and i kept saying i have trouble with more
than 3 open instances of ie8.
now i shall share this fix from microsoft with my other computers and my
friends.

Hi,

Care to elaborate? And share with everyone else here. (On a new thread....
poor DJT (the original OP) may not be interested).
