Wouldn't be surprised if that's the case, yes.

No, AU works fine and as it's been configured to work. I'm suggesting that
if you did go to WU to install the updates, it would have put you at the
"front of the line", so to speak. Everyone knows (or at least should by
now) that it can sometimes take 2-3 days for everyone using Automatic Update
to be pushed the updates. G-d knows how many new WinXP machines are going
online every day and that only compounds the problem.

If you're impatient and justgottahaveitrightthisveryminute, well, go to
Windows Update (and slow things down even more for everybody else).
