I am using XP with SP2 and have the same problem. The resolution I have
researched is to load the updates manually. WHERE? The Windows update URL
always seems to return to auto-load function. Other updates load
automatically. I just need to load these manually, but where? Any help?

Hi covert4,

Not knowing what updates you need to load manually, I would suggest that you
first start your search for these updates at the MS Download Center:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/s...displaylang=en
In the "Search for a Download" section, use the drop-down picklist in the
Product/Technology field to select the appropriate product (eg., Windows XP,
Internet Explorer) for which you are seeking updates, then click on the Go
button.

You can download them from the Catalog and save to be installed later.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...en/default.asp
How to Download Windows Updates and Drivers from the Windows Update Catalog
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323166

Click Add button for each update you want to download. Once you have what you want,
Click the “Go To Download Basket” link. Type in or browse to the location where you
want the updates saved to and then Click the “Download Now” button.
Once downloaded, you can then burn them to CD.
