Dear Customer,

Thanks for using newsgroup.

According to your description, my understanding is that: you want to know
if there are any tools or command line tool that can check for the
possibility of upgrading from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008.

Currently, we do not have such kind of tool for Windows Server 2008. We
will report your request to the corresponding development team. If we have
any update, we will let you know as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, for the upgrade issue, here are some TechNet document which may
be helpful to you.

David,

Thank you for the reply.

I tried the following tool "Microsoft Assessment and Planning Solution
Accelerator" which does do a pretty good job.
