Which desktop OS are you using, and are you using a notebook with a
docking station? Are you plugging the device into a USB hub or
directly into your computer? Does it sync OK if you perform a soft
reset then place it in the cradle?

I use windows xp on a desktop and I have this same problem. The usb is
directly plugged into the pc's usb port. I have tried the other ports on the
desktop and same result so I know it isn't the ports. Soft reset will not
help at all. Believe me that is the first thing I tried. I had a problem with
my sync port on my dell way back when and Beverely and Chris helped me with
it but it turned out to be my sync port was bad. I had the sync port replaced
in Feb. I am hoping that it isn't the sync port yet again. It is charging
correctly so I am hoping this isn't another lost cause.

OK, I just did a hard reset on my Axim and syn works now. So it must be some
issue within my device that is corrupt.

I use spb backup and wondering if some way it is causing this. Anyone have
any further trouble shooting tips based on this new information?
