This doesn't sound like a Windows Mail problem.

It's a corrupted user profile. A system restore might help, but more than
likely the user will need to create a new one for themselves, then transfer
their user data into it before deleting the old one.

Rick, unable to do a restore for a new profile since it keeps asking for my
password and the same message appears. Any other ideas? I'm getting

What about doing it from your husband's account? Or is his not an
administrator.

Have you tried logging in from Safe mode?

Hi,

Hit F8 immediately after the initial system POST and just as Windows begins
to load, it should bring up a boot menu where you can select safe mode.

Rick,
Thanks to you safe mode worked........ restored back several days and I was
able to sign into windows with my password. Now I'll try setting up a
standard account for me also. At least I now know more than I did before.
Thank you again. Kathy

Hi Gary,

I continued cross-posting to .mail as kathybp was using the web interface,
so it was impossible to discern whether she was coming in through the
vista.mail group where this thread originated or if she had migrated to the
vista.general group (which I doubt as she likely had no idea of my
crossposting from there). As the issue is resolved, this thread should end
now.
