Gregory Shearman is no record as saying that he thinks implementing a
consistent and decent UI is a waste of time for a programmer since
people can make do with any old crap since they're not idiots.

I have seen some very learned people get totally flomoxxed trying to use
Linux for even simple tasks.

Hi Moshe, I personally love to hear some contrarian and intelligently
phrased opinions, and stuff like that, but wanted to ask you to
slightly reduce their number, alt.os.linux.ubuntu becomes a little
harder to wade through. So perhaps you could post just slightly
