Delete IE's cache from Internet Options in the Control Panel.
Delete the contents of the WINDOWS\Software Distribution folder .
Now try Windows Update .

Before I just read your advice a friend told me to disable my Norton firewall
and virus scanner and run Windows Update and it worked. SP-2 downloaded and
installed perfectly thru the Windows Update site>
