Who's verdict? What consortium decided this? What solid information do
you base this on? Where is the link(s) backing up your claim? All I see
is an unfounded statement to be ignored.

In MY and MANY others testing, Win 7 is/will be MUCH better than Vista
right out-of-the-box. ..Leaner, meaner, faster. Go install and uninstall
some more OS's and quit spreading moronic crap. ..Hell, you don't leave
ANYTHING installed long enough to FULLY test it, yet you spew your
constant meaningless, moronic, reports.

Get a life.

G'day

The general user couldn't give a rat's A** about Win 7 Server, so has
little to do with Win 7 here. As always anyone's MMV, but I seriously
doubt the validity of your statement.

Perhaps he's used a new Windows release before? Anyone who maintains
MS-Windows professionally always advises waiting until SP1.

Of course, if you want to consider Win7 as Visa SP3, then maybe it's
OK to use.

In my testing, (Beta and now RC), Both Beta and RC smokes Vista in every
way, including STABILITY. Naturally, anyones MMV.

How would you know? They say, information takes a while longer to reach
Australia.

BTW, someone ought to let you know that the Beatles have split up.

Unlikely.

That is completely untrue. Granted, a few incompetents always advise
that, but that's a far cry form "Anyone who maintains MS-Windows
professionally...." From my point of view, only the most unprofessional
blame the OS for their own lack of preparedness.

You're the incompetent if you upgrade business customers to a new
version of windows before SP1. Every recent Windows release - Vista,
XP, Win2K - was known for being unusable before SP1. In addition,
there hasn't been a single MS OS that hasn't run appreciably better
after SP1.

You'd better go back to your Mom and Pop shops now and do your
upgrades. Mom and Pop won't notice how bad it sucks.

SP2 increased network performance a bit IME (it was about 10x slower
than XP before that; now it's just a little bit slower). It also made
sleep/hibernate performance a little bit more reliable, although it's
still only at about 75% reliable.

I'm not familiar with the problem you cite and there have not been a
lot of reports of it.
