Depending on how or what you have done to the disk you may still be able to
recover some of your photos.
You should be able to recover 5 files by using the demo of getdataback,
you'll then be able to determine if you want to buy the product or not.
Of course, the more you use the system the more likely you are to overwrite
any remaining fragments of files on your hard drive but again this depends
on where the files were kept in the first place.

GetDataBack is good. If that does not work, he should try this free
program, which saved me a bit of grief the other day:
