what if i don't have a restore point

i can't even log on to windows now
it says something like "updates not configured correctly. revertin
changes. do not turn off computer. and somehow, it will restart, and d
the same thing over and over. i really need help with this one. m
school project is due in two days, and my graduation depends on thi
project. please

Download a live Distro like Ubuntu or Knoppix from Linux and boot your computer with
it. Then take off your schoolwork that you so desperately need. Worry about fixing
your computer after

I had the same problem and the only solution is the one outlined in th
first reply to the post - put your installation or recovery disc in an
follow the instructions. Worked perfectly for me

This does not seem to be the same problem. I never had a black screen
only a message as outlined above. Booting into Safe Mode or Last Goo
Configuration did nothing. It was an endless loop. The only solution wa
to Fix from the Recovery Disc. All updates from 30 November sho
'Failed' and I have turned off Automatic Updates. Does anyone know whic
update from the 30 or so it could be
