How is the user trying to "access" the domain? OWA, Sharepoint (companyweb),
is he using VPN, etc?

FYI, a Vista Home, or XP Home cannot be joined to a domain.

I know that the Home Edition cannot "join" a domain, but they can
access a domain, so I thought...

The machine is on the local Intranet and is trying to access file
shares. It is able to access the Apache web server that is NOT tied
into Windows Authentication. It is most definitly a security issue
because my account, domain admin, is able to access the file shares.
Meanwhile when the user logs in to a computer on the domain, the user
is able to access the shares with no problem.

Oh, a share. I see. Then the user will need to be logged on with an
identical username and password of a domain account. Or map a drive and
supply alternate credentials in the mapping box.
