My previous post---"The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User
Profile cannot be
loaded". The w/s the logs off back to 'ctl-alt-del' screen.

Finally solved the problem. I removed th roaming from the user, then deleted
the profile from the server. Next Logged on to the w/s as local admin (after
reenabling the account (disabled by default - well done MS) and deleted the
local profile. Finally restored the users docs to the server from backup and
reset roaming.

Why, Oh Why have MS redesigned all the networking in Vista without
comprehensive documentation?

lol, it's like some of those primative secret societies, where when ca
eventually get to know the ultimate secret.. that there is no secre
(just no docs). keeps a bunch of people chasing microsof
qualifications for years and no doubt makes a few extra mega bugs fo
m$

you know, it makes me think that a really good thing that thi
community could do is create a set of comprehensive document
describing windows services, something like the descriptions which on
gets in the services dialogue, but with a lot more informatio
describing things like whether they connect to the web, which port
they use, what they do and things to bring them back when they ar
broken. there are only, (guestimate) 100 or so, and the docs could b
appended to and corrected over time, perhaps in a wiki.. admins, if yo
are reading this then you could give those of us who like this place
lot rights to do that if you install a wiki php? app on the site, i
might be a great resourse which makes this place even better and wil
no doubt trawl in many more hit
