by GFX i mean graphics card ??

Vista loves RAM & will happily swallow gigs of it, this is where my rig
sits idle (i have no apps running)
7503

if its not hampering performance in anyway i wouldnt worry, Vista will
release any RAM that is required.

It's not depleted, it's being put to good use. Remember this:

"Empty RAM is wasted RAM."

Unlike XP, Vista uses lots of RAM deliberately - it preloads stuff into
memory which it "expects" you to use based on your previous useage patterns,
and it keeps stuff in memory that might be needed again. It is instantly
released if an application actually needs it.

In many ways Vista is starting to behave more like a "grown up" operating
system than previous versions of Windows. Making the maximum possible use
of your RAM is common practice in "serious" operating systems, and it's a
good thing.
