How did you get these on the desktop in the first place? They don't appear
on my version....

If you aren't intimidated by regedit.exe there seems to be a solution.

Removing Libraries and HomeGroup icons from the Windows 7 desktop

Err - Maybe they won't appear on the desktop of the NET COP. Err <sigh>
