Hi,
When does this error occur? Do you have any antispyware applications that
could be conflicting with ActiveSync running?

Hi,

I've the same problem (only in dutch)

On PC startup we get following message:
Type gebeurtenis: Informatie
Bron van gebeurtenis: Application Popup
Categorie van gebeurtenis: Geen
Gebeurtenis-ID: 26
Datum: 13/03/2006
Tijd: 9:03:48
Gebruiker: n.v.t.
Computer: 011967PC
Beschrijving:
Toepassingspop-up: WCESCOMM.EXE - Toepassingsfout : Kan de toepassing niet
juist initialiseren (0xc0000142). Klik op OK om de toepassing te beëindigen.

The sollution for now is restarting the pc a couple times.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thx

I am still getting this problem. As noted previously, the problem does seem
to appear when users attempt to lock/unlock their desktops using
CTRL_ALT-DEL....

I have noticed that Wcescomm.exe is running all the time even when an pocket
PC is not connected and that from other articles that WCEScomm.exe can be
executed by other Windows apps. I am wondering whether the WCEScomm.exe is
being run when explorer is run when locking/unlocking the desktop....

Does anyone have any further information on this....

Thanks

Toby

Hi, TOBYW:

I just resolved this problem. Below is how I cleared my issue. You may try it.

1. Remove ActiveSyn 4 from your computer.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Remove all files (not folders and Mobile Device short cut) in "C:\Program
Files\Microsoft ActiveSync".
4. Reinstall ActiveSyn 4 (Do not use any USB device during installation.)
5. Restart your computer again.

That's how I got my problem fixed. I don't know if it can fix yours.
Give it a try. Hope it may fix your problem.
