Hi - Guys!
i have a variation on this -
every time i switch on my laptop it tells me
"Your computer might be at risk -
No Firewall is turned on".
I have read all threads and posts here, and googled for solutions on
the web, but to no avail.
- I have to keep enabling the Windows Security Centre pop-up
- I have gone in to the Windows Firewall Settings .... and it is set
to enabled at Start-up, as recommended.
- I have gone in to Services, Windows Firewall & Advanced Settings,
and properties, but nothing is displaying as it shouldnt (Domain Profile
- Firewall State: On [recommended])
Cant find OneCare on my system (believe i used to have it but
uninstalled it as it was interfering with downloads that i'd agreed to
as Safe.
Because this kept happening i tried loading a Personal Firewall Program
called SYGATE Pro (now looked after Norton), but that just told me i had
a conflict, and error'd on loading telling me i didnt have administrator
rites ???!!!!! (which as a sole Account, i most certainly do).
- the irony is, tho i got those conflict prompts, when i go to
uninstall, the removal tool cant find the Sygate program?!-
I have moved from Spybot to Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, which i keep up
to-date and regularly run.
I protect my laptop with Spyware Blaster which alerts me to anything
i've agreed to download, but shouldnt.
and my virus protector is ESET's NOD32
which daily auto-updates, and regulalry scans - ive found it to be
particularly agressive to trojans and worms, and it's a program i can
highly recommend.
Im beginning to believe this is a software issue, and will require a
reformating, reading through previous posts of people who tried
"repairing" as a solution, but which didnt resolve
