Is it possibly the notification telling him that he's signed in from another
location? That would ba a small window in the lower right corner that pops
up, but generally it doesn't go away so fast you can't read it. If that's
the case, reset his password and it may help - it's possible his credentials
have been compromised.
Otherwise it would be very hard to tell you anything without knowing what's
popping up.
