At this point, if putting in your internal DNS addresses didn't work (do NOT
use the router or Cable ISP's or nothing will work) as described in my step
by step, or Meinolf's step by step, then there may be something else minor
going on preventing communications to AD. All internal machines (clients,
DCs, etc, must only use the DC's DNS service or nothing will work).
btw - the adprep Meinolf outlined is if you used a new Windows 2003 R2 CD
for the new DC installation, and the first DC is not version R2. The CD will
clearly state if it is R2 or not. From what I remember earlier on in your
posts, you are using the original CD to install the new server, so you would
not be using R2 and wouldn't have to worry about prepping the domain for R2,
unless something changed?
