If it gets rid of McAfee I'd say its progress.

You can get free anti-virus solutions which are better than the Comcast
offer..

Do a search on Avast or Avira.. both are better than McAfee

How about finally removing those silly messages from your ESET program.
You have shown them long enough by now.

- Advanced setup
- Email client protection
- Alerts and notifications
- Append tag messages to ........ (2 x)
("To infected mail only")

Uninstall IE8 and reinstall. If this problem turns into a vicious cycle,
then you are going to have to choose which product you want.

Thank you.
:-))

By the way, I use NOD32 as a real-time av-program and Avira Antivir
(free) as on-demand second-opinion scanner.

Just as OP I can download McAfee from my provider for nothing, but I
prefer to keep my PC healthy and I avoid all products from McAfee and
Norton (Symantec), also know as "bloatware".

Maybe Bob H should reconsider his preference for McAfee.
He would not be the first one, nor be the last one to do so.
