I guess we should be glad it isn't all caps, but it is downright
annoying to try and read something written this way. The author
apparently chooses to disregard grammar rules.
Heck I'm surprised he is even bothering to type. If a full-blown OS is
antiquated then certainly keyboard entry belongs in the past.
As far as the merits of web-based applications. Eventually that may be
where things are headed, but for the majority of people web based
applications simply don't have the power or flexibility to do what
people require.
If you only wish to check email, then just get an iOpener (an email
appliance).
Plus many people, like myself, are stuck with dialup and web based
applications simply don't have the speed to make it worthwhile. Not to
mention I have never really liked using web based email. Its convenient
if you travel, but otherwise I didn't want to have to go to check my
email at a webpage. I set my program to check periodically for me. I
can also check all my accounts at once since with my stand alone email
program I can check multiple accounts with ease.
If you wish to go only web-based, then go for it. You are limiting your
possibilities. You certainly don't understand though that most people
do more with their OS than what you suggest.
Also if you think Windows is bloated, then go find an alternative OS.
There are several being built and available online that may be more your
type.
