When running WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe it fails with

Hi,

Are you able to move (not copy) the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\wups.dll
to another location?

If you are, run WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe after you have moved
the file.

If you are not able to move it, in a command prompt (run e.g. cmd.exe
from Start/Run to open one):

Run the following command:

cacls.exe %windir%\system32\wups.dll


Here is the output from my computer:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wups.dll BUILTIN\Users:R
BUILTIN\Power Users:C
BUILTIN\Administrators:F
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM:F
NH\<my user name>:F



If you get an error saying "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)",
the hard disk most likely has a fault (e.g. some bad sectors).
