Subject: Windows Update getting error

After updating the Windows XP Service Pack 2, getting error [Error number:
0x80244018] this error when we updating behind the local proxy(firewall).
Hi,
Because we are attempting to update through the proxy there has been a
common issue that we have been encountering.
PROBLEM: Error 0x80244018 error when using the Windows Update site
CAUSE: Invalid characters from the proxy exception list or windows update
was
accessing proxy cache
RESOLUTION: Suggested to remove the invalid character and then clear the
proxy
cache
