Re: Windows update keeps installing the same update

Tony,

Have you checked in Add/Remove Programs to see if KB835732 is listed ?
If it is not, open the KB835732.log found in the WINDOWS directory with
Notepad to see if there are any error codes for the failed installation.

Suggest you download the update from the link here :
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms04-011.mspx
Click the link next to " Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows XP
Service Pack 1 " to get to the download page, save the update, reboot to
Safe Mode, and see if you can install it succesfully from there.

I have the same problem--dozens of installations of KB835732--but my
ADD/Remove list shows that it is installed. For some reason the auto update
installer doesn't think so. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem - keeps wanting to install - says "successful",
but then wants to reinstall again (even after reboot).

nOW WHAT ????????????????????????????????????????????

I found out that i do not have the software installed, for what au is trying
to update, ((ms-DB-comp.) but why does it try to install ??
