See my reply in windowsxp.general & take a good look at the update log file. Post back with the Error number & description, if there.

Also, are you running Zone Alarm? If so, add download.windowsupdate.com to the privacy (safe list) in Zone Alarm.

If still no joy, get the "set" of lines for the date at issue, copy, and paste back in a reply.
